We're going to Centerparcs just before Christmas - will it be good then?

Sorry I have no advice other than book a bloody good hotel and do bugger all :)

Can't go away this year I'm afraid which is why we're looking for days out instead.

You will love center parcs the week leading upto Xmas will exceed all expectations. Beautiful!

We are fairly central in the country so could travel anywhere in the South East or Midlands if anyone has any ideas (hopeful face)

Hmm......I fear you are in my neck of the woods then. Have you tried www.letsgowiththechildren.co.uk for some ideas?

I'm clutching at straws here, and possibly slightly off area but there is Thursford It seems rather expensive to me, so we haven't been, but I gather it is good??? Don't hold me to it though!

We enjoyed the Garden Illuminations for Christmas at Rufford Country Park last year (just north of Nottingham).

They have a grotto and a Christmas trail and various other activities depending on the dates.

Maybe not worth travelling huge distances for, but from what you've said it might be a reasonable distance for you.

abs that is perfect! Thank you so much- I would never have found it Grin

DD will be thrilled

Happy to help.
Like I say, cannot make a personal recommendation, but I gather it is quite spectacular - do phone them though and find out exactly what happens and how long you have.

I nearly went last year, but when I phoned and they said "your tour lasts no more than 30 minutes" I was kind Hmm at that for £50, so didn't go. I later found out that you can apparently, hang back and go slower than the recommended tour.. but as I haven't seen it in RL, I really don't know!

Oh, and you must book. Despite the costs, it is unbelievably popular.
