Advent Calendars with no chocolate but with glitter found!

In the shopping mall on one of those stalls where they sell calendars and diaries. I wasn't drawn in at all by photographs of the characters from Twilight or that Zek Afro, oh no.

I bought two. One nativity scene and one a Christmas tree surrounded by presents. Lovely!

Actual real glitter on each one!

And when the DC open the doors there won't be a piece of shite plastic obscuring the picture inside, it will be like the advent calendars I had when I was little and the picture itself will be the surprise. Hooray!

Ah I loved those and my dcs got sent one each 2 years ago and they loved them more than the chocolate ones too!

First advent calendar I ever saw was a blue glittery nativity scene in reception class at school. Oh it was the height of glamour. Each of us would be allowed to open a little door in turn every day and we would discuss the picture which was in colour and easily seen with no plastic in the way.

Then again:

AIBU to think that my mother was a stingy old cow not letting us have Barbie / Ben 10 advent calendars with chocolate in them?

Why can't we have glitter AND chocolate...

Thanks gravey, but I'm starting to despair... no glitter/traditional picture AND choc to be found. And I dont want pastel pink or ben 10. its not natural.
