ie - they can buy what they want so doesn't need to be a treat as such. Last year I bought garden things, Christmas tea, biscuits or chocolates so would like something different if possible. TIA Smile.

Cheese hamper? Posh deli cheese shops do them. I ordered one for dp (who isn't a 70 yr old female with money, but he might as well be for how difficult he is) Ordered humungous one with about 30 different cheeses. He loved it (and my sinuses are still recovering)

I bought one of them a lovely jewelled coloured scarf today so have made a start. I am definitely interested in the cheese hamper. I expect I will find myself at Bluewater before too long so will look in the White Company then. Thanks again.

Brora do lovely cashmere socks as well (£25 a pair by the way - even close relatives only get 1 pair from me!)

Oooo thanks for those tips too as i was wondering what to get for aged MIL and DM too.

Did the hamper last year which was well received but made my own with a cardboard box covered with Xmas paper and lots of M&S goodies that weren't as weird as the Harrods stuff (got one few years back).

I have found those grow your own bulbs in pretty vases go down well with older folks as they love to potter and watch things come to life. They live on the window ledge inside so perfect for flat owners!
