We are thinking of getting everything ready to put in the oven this year, because of a newborn and then splitting the cost with friends.

But when will I be able to cost it all?

I'm not sure either, I keep checking. I am making a place here in case anyone else knows.

hifi · 12/10/2010 09:27

waitrose out now,free in store.

chippy47 · 12/10/2010 09:29

Waitrose have a second catalogue (all food) coming out at the end of the month. The one out now has the 'entertaining' food and other stuff.

bytheMoonlight · 12/10/2010 09:44

Can you view it online?

WRT to the waitrose one, book a slot ASAP then just swap to the CHristmas menu when it comes out.

MrsJohnDeere · 13/10/2010 20:39

M&s Tastes nicer IMHO, but waitrose customer service much better.

OP posts:
peanutsmuggler · 14/10/2010 13:55

I couldn't find the M&S one in store today, are they usually in the food hall area?

bytheMoonlight · 14/10/2010 14:31

Not sure peanutsmuggler, a friend picked mine up, sorry

OP posts:
The3Bears · 14/10/2010 20:02

I picked one up today in food hall :)

chimchARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH · 15/10/2010 07:31

have been thinking abiout this too...

is it different from their normal range? can you collect in store, or do they deliver it to you?

any info most appreciated.

ClaireDeLoon · 20/10/2010 19:17

I'd like to know the same as chimcharrrgggghhhhhhhh if anyone has the answers? Ocado don't have the turkey that I want but waitrose do, M&S don't. I need to be certain of getting it, so want to go in and order and know I can pick it up on 23rd. Is this possible? I know how this is M&S work as have done it before, but never with waitrose.

I can't find anything on the waitrose website except that it will let me pick a delivery slot and add the turkey but I'm nervy they'll end up out of stock.

ohforfoxsake · 20/10/2010 19:19

M&S have theirs out now and are doing a Christmas lunch for 6 (turkey, roast spuds, red cabbage, trimmings, can't remember what else but its all oven-ready) for £60.

Am sorely tempted....

ohforfoxsake · 20/10/2010 19:23

and you can download their orderform online now.

I tried to do a link, but it failed miserably.

bytheMoonlight · 20/10/2010 19:33

Thats what we have orderd ohforfoxsake.

I am hoping to put the red cabbage and mash aside for the boxing day buffet.

Hopefully there will be enough to go around four adults, one child and one toddler.

OP posts:
ohforfoxsake · 21/10/2010 09:45

see, now I know you've got it, I want it. Wink

Is it cheating? I am making my own puddings and cake, but can't help thinking I should be peeling potatoes, basting in goosefat, peeling sprouts and serving slightly borderline-cooked-or-not-quite turkey. Which probably still has the giblets in.

tricky one ...

bytheMoonlight · 21/10/2010 13:28

My excuse is I'll have a newborn, so for any type of Christmas dinner to be on the table it will have to be prepared by someone else.

I have made my own pudding as well, can't be arsed with the faff of a cake this year though Blush

I am going to make this pie for boxing day again though to go with the mash and red cabbage. Just waiting for the cranberries and chestnuts to hit the shops so I make and freeze it.

And I'll cover a chocolate log with chocolate buttercream and sprinkle with icing sugar to appease those who don't like Christmas pudding.
Not the nicest of puddings but it'll do Grin Last year I made baileys tiramusu which was lovely - no such effort will made this year though Grin

OP posts:
ohforfoxsake · 21/10/2010 13:30

If you order it before mid-November you get a free bottle of wine. Grin
