DH is working 9am - 9pm Christmas Day + Boxing Day...works in a hospital and they are also only doing normal weekend pay on the day. He is okay about it, but im gutted. DD is 18mo and was ill last Christmas, so was keeping everything crossed that he might not be needed. Sad

my dh has to work for a couple of hours in the morning but it involves him taking a church service that we all go to so not really a big deal (just means we can't ever go away). Christmas is also really busy for him though and, depending on what's happening in the parish, he sometimes doesn't get much time off). TBH him having to work Boxing Day this year (as it's a Sunday) is more of a deal for me as I LOVE Boxing Day and like to go to the Sales leaving everyone else in jammies and return to eat leftovers/choc and slob all day...!

dh working Christmas day too

I am so used to him working Saturdays, I think I will probably just regard it as another day and do a special meal the week after!

I am a nurse. we are allowed to request 2 of the 5 "special" days.

So I have requested christmas eve and chrsitmas day and will have to work, new years eve, new years day and boxing day.
