Can anyone recommend any good games for my dd who will be 4 next month?

Anything by Orchard toys is usually good.

Or Junior Monopoly, my DC still play that and the youngest is 7 but it's good from 4yo for sure.

Card games are great as well, it always amazes me that people don't play cards with their children. But I asusme you were thinking of board games to buy?

DD is 4 and a half (the half may well make a difference) She loves Uno (card game) and Draughts Hmm along with anything silly involving hitting rotating martians etc from Early Learning!

My DD is 4 and a half and she loves:

crocodile dentist

nibble nibble (hansel and gretal game, its fab!)

pop up pirate

frustration

guess how much i love you (comes with the book and dvd too)

wobbly chef

Pairs

Noddy Memory game

Shopping list

Animal bingo

Hope this helps.

My 4 year old loves 3some snakes and ladders. We have to play it everyday at the mo! Also enjoys dominoes

We had a game from ELC called Join Us Together, based on the beetle drive game, but using dinosaurs. Ages 4-7 yrs, 2-4 players. Each player throws the die to win pieces of their chosen dinosaur which slot together. This was some years ago, but I'm sure they will have something similar now. Picture dominoes good if she can't recognise the dotty ones yet. Look around at the games that have been popular for many years.

Cranium Hulabaloo is a really big hit at our house.

Thanks everyone, I was thinking maybe Guess Who & Operation but was concerned they might be a little too old for her. The ideas are great, can't believe I forgot what great 'learning' games Orchard Toys do Blush
Mrs Shrek - What exactly is uno? I think my ds (will be 7) might like this too?

Don't get Operation, it's totally impossible and thus a bit of a drag.

Guess Who is good tho.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 06/10/2010 07:49

Guess Who is good from about 5. Operation depends on the child. It is incredibly fiddly and a pain in the arse, I bought it for DS (5) and he just doesn't get it.

Frustration is good, Snakes and Ladders. Orchard Toys games are good.
