Does anyone know the answers to any of the following .........

Where can I get some pretty but fairly cheap cups & saucers on the internet for candle-making?

Or some nice looking glass jars I could use for candle making?

TIA Smile

this kind of thing? (expensive, but must be cheaper available?

lucysmam · 19/09/2010 11:14

oooh, yeah. They're pretty. But not willing to spend quite that much on my sister. But yes, they're the kind of thing I'm after.

Maybe if I buy some glasses from wilko or Asda I could get some glass paints & paint them

thanks missmoopy, it took me a while to remember to turn my pop-up blocker off to see your link but it was worth the frustration!

I know you said the internet but your best bet is charity shops.

samsonara · 19/09/2010 12:08

I would also try car boot sales

missmoopy · 19/09/2010 13:11

Trawl Oxfam etc as they often have pretty glasses etc. Here's some cheaper ones of t'internet

lucysmam · 19/09/2010 20:25

Car boot may be the way to go, our charity shops round here tend to be quite pricey for the battered stuff that usually makes it's way to them

i think ikea would be worth a try. they certainly have nice cheap glass jars...

lucysmam · 20/09/2010 21:54

I don't live near an Ikea but may be able to get my dad to pick something up if I send a list with him next time he goes. Doubt he'd take me though, he and my sister are joined at the hip

do you have a quality save near you? They had some sets of white cups & saucers in our local one recently

lucysmam · 23/09/2010 15:12

erm, I've never heard of them lilolil so guess not, thanks for the suggestion though. I've spotted a charity shop near my MIL's house that I think may well be cheaper than the others I'd usually pop in so am going to get off the bus there next time I pass it & have a look
