Help me find a special bike for DD for Christmas

She's 3. She would like her first bike for Christmas and would like it to be a 'rainbow' bike. Ie, very colourful.

Any ideas?

This is quite colourful
This is also very colourful but might be a bit boyish
Very colourful

Hope that helps!

Thanks lulabella

I think she'll see herself as too old for Fifi.
The toy story one isnt quite right.

The Dora one is almost perfect. In fact it is wonderful. My only worry is what age she thinks Dora is targeted at. I expect it to last her about 18 months, so she'd be 5 by the time she was outgrowing it.

Ahh, dilemma.

And I'm not sure I could get a baby carrier on the back, which sadly, may be DDs other pre-requisite. Grin

what about this it is quite vile but my dd would love it!

MNTotoro · 29/08/2010 21:31

nancy75 - It is vile, isnt it Grin and just the thing most little girls love. My DDs favourite colours are yellow and orange and she isnt too fussed with pink, which is the source of my problem.

How she thinks I can come up with a rainbow bike, short of learning to do some airbrushing of my own, I'm not sure? :)

Bubbles bike

with doll carrier on back

they're available in loads of different shops. Really good quality, DD's looked like new after 2 and half years solid use.

MNTotoro · 29/08/2010 21:33

I am currently thinking about this one but it doesnt quite hit the spot.

nancy75 Grin

Pixieonaleaf - I saw that one but it had some quite negative reviews on amazon which put me off a bit.

Maybe I'm being a bit fussy on her behalf?

DH thinks I should pikc 3 bikes, show her the pictures and get her to decide which one to ask Santa for. I'm not sure.

MNTotoro · 29/08/2010 21:40

I think it might be Pixie. By the way, I'm glad to hear your DD is feeling better. I saw your thread the other day.

I like that nancy75. Sadly it has to be a 12" as she has pretty short legs.

I fell like I have 2 personal shoppers here. It is lovely Grin

Yet another gap in the market. A rainbow bike should surely exist!

What about customising a bike? You could take a bike to your local garage to get in resprayed or if you get one with a good basic colour and nicely contrasting wheels you could add different coloured tassles and spokey dokes, maybe change the saddle? A company that does vinyl graphics for vehicles could supply you with quantities of vinyl in different colours which you could wrap around the frame, or coloured shapes to stick on to the frame, stabilisers and chain guard...

MNTotoro · 30/08/2010 09:12

Thank you so much for your help everyone.

I have sat DD down this morning and showed her all of the bikes. Her favourite by a mile was the Dora bike. She is even happy to overlook the lack of baby carrier, and settle for putting her baby in the backpack.

Dora Bike

Now I need to get her to forget all about it for a while until Christmas Grin
