Narketta · 21/08/2010 16:58

Lauriefairycake · 21/08/2010 17:04

It's a wonderful life

Miracle on 34th Street

Noel - a new one I picked up last year for £3 - basically a slightly sad, adult, slow film about love and loneliness - set around Christmas

CupcakesHay · 23/08/2010 10:24

National Lampoons for sure. Actually watched it the other day!

I also love Home Alone, Gremlins, Scrooge, Christmas with the Kranks, Elf and One Of My Dinosaurs is Missing - as I AWLAYS remember this being on TV on Christmas Eve morning...

I'm going back to Uk for Christmas (live abroad) and DH is not coming with me - as he needs to save leave for when I give birth in late Jan - so I am planning on taking all the good christmas movies back to Uk and sitting at my mums and watchign them!

(my mum will LOVE that! NOT!) :)

PS. I think MN need to do a little Christmas smiley face...!

TheFallenMadonna · 23/08/2010 10:29

You're watching them now? Ban on Christmas films until December in this house. DD is even saving her "Daisy and the Trouble with Christmas" book until then.

But, since you asked:

It's a wonderful life
Miracle on 34th Street (both versions!)
A Christmas Carol (or is it called Scrooge? (the Alastair Sim one anyway)
White Christmas
Trading Places (but not for the children!!)

MrsKitty · 23/08/2010 10:34

Miracle on 34th St. (original version)
It's a wonderful life
All I want for Christmas (super cheesy, but I love it!)
Muppets Christmas Carol
Scrooged
Meet Me in St Louis
Santa Claus The Movie
Die Hard 2 Hmm for DH!

I love Christmas films Grin

AmazingBouncingFerret · 23/08/2010 10:37

I watched one last year called The Family Stone with Sarah Jessica Parker and a host of others in it. It was actually quite good.

deaddei · 23/08/2010 10:43

I think you all want a good talking to for even mentioning the C word, and all chocolate confiscated.
But I have to say National Lampoon's gets my vote.

Oh and National Lampoons, Christmas with the kranks, Gremlins, and DH bought me my absolute number 1 a few year ago, the original Grinch who stole Christmas Cartoon from the 60's - fan-christmas-tastic!

I love family stone - such a good movie. Actually watching that one year in October made me book flights home to my mum's for Christmas!

mumoverseas · 29/08/2010 07:15

Holiday Inn (White Christmas) BEST christmas film ever

xkaylax · 29/08/2010 17:34

I love home alone 1&2 always makes me feel really christmassy watching them Grin

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 29/08/2010 17:42

Our DVD cabinet is chock-full of children's christmas movies so there are so many to choose from. Love The Grinch, the Home Alone's, Elf etc. As for myself, I watched Four Christmases last night (hadn't seen it before and forgot I bought it a while ago) and found it pretty funny with a great cast. My favourites have to be 'The Holiday' - just feels nice and National Lampoon never gets old. Deck The Halls and Christmas with the Kranks were also funnier than I had expected.

Tippychoocks · 29/08/2010 17:46

WE pack them away with the Christmas carol CDs in a big trunk with the decorations. But then I get my tree on the first weekend in December so we do have them in good time.

I like the Santa Clause ones, not sure why
Muppets Christmas
Elf
Santa Claus the Movie
Shrek the Halls (not my fave but popular here)

What's four Christmasses, any good?

We also have an episode of Dora the Explorer with the creepiest Mexican Santa EVER. Anyon seen it?

ninah · 29/08/2010 17:48

It's a wonderful life

ninah · 29/08/2010 17:48

hang on, it's AUGUST!

PinkyDink · 29/08/2010 19:58

A bit too early for me to start watching yet, but mine are (in no particular order!)

Santa Claus The Movie
Elf
Christmas with the Kranks
The Santa Clause 1, 2 & 3
Love Actually
Miracle on 34th Street
Jingle All the Way

I also want to see - Nativity, Fred Claus, Polar Express, Four Christmasas

I always end up complaining that I never get to watch all my Christmas films in time for Christmas, so maybe this year I will start a little earlier!

BabyDubsEverywhere · 29/08/2010 20:50

Its the end of august! Grin

Only 118 days Grin hohoho

OP posts:

Elf too, just brilliant.

And i'm someone who hates Christmas!!
