Honeywitch · 09/08/2010 17:55

Are you going to feed it whisky or brandy?

TitsalinaBumSquash · 09/08/2010 17:56

I dont usualy make it until the end of October but i am feeling organized this year.

I must also buy one Nintendo DS next month and one in November so they dont run out Christams. (Just putting it here to remind myself)

I wonder how many people have hidden this thread? Grin

I made my first Christmas puddings last year and they went down a storm. Glad to know I'm not the only one thinking ahead and planning when to make them. I can't do them stir-up Sunday as we're always home (in the States) visiting my family for Thanksgiving. So I want to make them early in anticipation of the Christmas season (and so I'm not running around like a maniac when we get back, two weeks before Christmas). I LOVE Christmas!

(Anyone know if it's easy to get homemade Christmas pudding and/or homemade mincemeat through US customs?)

What pickles do you make TitsalinaBumSquash?

TitsalinaBumSquash · 11/08/2010 22:11

I have just made a batch of Ginger, date and Apple Chutney which is really good with Cheese and cold meats.

I will also do a basic Tomato Chutney, a Cranberry and Blueberry Jam and a Chilli Jelly.

I usually make jars of Pickled Onions, preserved Lemons. I just need jars, i tried freecycle but no luck.

Have you got a foolproof cake recipe too titsalina?

bytheMoonlight · 12/08/2010 19:53

Hve you got recipes for your chutneys Titsalina, they sound fab!

domesticsluttery · 12/08/2010 20:01

I have been making chutneys, pickled onions, pickled beetroot etc to put away for Christmas. PIL are getting a hamper of homemade stuff so have made extra chutney and jam for that. Need to make marmalade (with prepared oranges) next.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 12/08/2010 22:29

My ginger, date and apple chutney is on my blog (link further down) i will be adding more soon, im doing a lot of Panto rehersals at the moment. :)
