Has anyone else watched The Chosen? I have watched it all and am eagerly awaiting the final season!
There’s something so powerful about seeing Jesus and the disciples brought to life in such a human, relatable way. I know some of the conversations and storylines are fictionalised, but it really helps you imagine the people and world around Jesus and makes the Gospel feel so much more alive.
One scene that really stayed with me was Mary Magdalene’s. Watching Jesus meet her in her brokenness and call her by name was incredibly moving. ❤️ There is something so beautiful about the way He looks at her — not with condemnation or disgust, but with love, compassion and complete acceptance.
It reminded me that Jesus doesn't look at us and see the worst thing we've ever done. He sees the person underneath it all. He knows our wounds, our shame and our struggles, and still says, come to Me.
I also love how the series shows Jesus choosing people who society might have overlooked or judged, and making them part of His closest circle. It really brings home just how radical His love and mercy are.
Some of the scenes have genuinely brought me to tears and made me want to pick up my Bible afterwards and read the actual Gospel passage.
