Please may I ask for your prayers?

Hi all,

I am hoping I may ask the favour for your prayers for me right now? It feels self-indulgent to ask but I don’t know any other Christian or Catholic people to lean upon..

I have been struggling with my relationship with my other half for a while and things have hit rock bottom recently. There has been a lot of pain and he is now saying we are beyond repair.

I have been praying the novena to St Jude, and using the Flower of Mount Carmel prayer daily, but I would really appreciate if you included me and my partner in your prayers, that we may resolve our differences, forgive and reunite?

Thank you so much FlowersDaffodil

I am not a Catholic, but my prayer to God through the Lord Jesus Christ is that your prayers are answered, and that you know His patience, comfort, grace and strength at this time. 💐🙏

I'll pray for you both, for strength and peace and a way forward. 🙏

I’m so sorry you are in this situation, I pray that the Lord will intercede and soften your husbands heart and that He will strengthen yours as you face this difficult and uncertain time.
Can I ask if your husband shares your Catholic faith or have his own beliefs? Do you have children? I have prayed for you and I hope you have people around you to that share your faith in real life. I pray you aren’t feeling alone in dealing with this season. Please come back and chat if you need to.

Thank you all 🙏🏻
My partner was baptised and raised Catholic, but is not a practicing one.. I would class him as a believer but not an active one if that makes sense? We have one child together.
I am recently a convert to Christianity and Jesus, having felt very alone due to issues in my life like the problems in my relationship, and find it a comfort to believe I am not totally alone now I believe in God. I don’t have any friends or family to lean on or talk to full stop.
Thank you all again for any prayers and well wishes sent my way Daffodil

Hi OP. This must be so hard for you. I’m so glad that the Lord has called you before you were faced with this heartache and worry. I’m sure it’s no coincidence 😊 I am very busy in the day with my youngest (SEN) so might only reply sporadically!

Firstly, my personal advice as a Christian wife and mother is this. We as women are called to serve the husband, family and home, so this may feel for you that your whole world is at stake. You may feel a huge weight of responsibility but this isn’t yours to carry. Put it down at the cross. It’s ok. You are not causing this. Scripture tells us that we should be anxious about nothing, but by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, make known our requests to God (sorry that’s clearly paraphrased!). You can only pray and ask the Lord what you should do. Don’t forget that His will may not be your current relationship (I don’t think you said you were married?) and that your partner is controlling the decision to split if I’m understanding you correctly. Sometimes a change in a person as profound as the changes that take place internally when you are born again, can make for a rocky path if he’s resistant or irritated by your change of faith, which is very common. When did you convert and when did you start dating?

secondly, if you do wish to pray over your relationship and bringing it in front of God then there is a wonderful devotional on YouTube I listened to a couple of years back. I can try and find the link? Just a thought as it was really beautiful.

I hope you’re ok. “I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me.”

Sending love and will pray for you today.
