Please help me find a book

My son (now 37!) has asked me if I can help him track down a book he remembers from childhood. He says it's a Christian fiction story about a prince who has healing training who goes to a foreign kingdom called something like Tash-Kalar and saves their Prince from an easily treatable illness but the local healers are all priests and all their healing is religious ceremonies.
I can't help him, it doesn't ring any bells at all for me, can any of you kind people assist please. Many thanks

Never heard of it. I am sorry, but it does not sound like a Christian book to me. Some people have a healing ministry but all Christians know that miraculous healing comes only from the Lord God Almighty. 🍿🥤

Have you tried AI - ChatGPT for example? I just copied “a fiction story about a prince who has healing training who goes to a foreign kingdom called something like Tash-Kalar and saves their Prince from an easily treatable illness but the local healers are all priests and all their healing is religious ceremonies” into AI and it came up with some suggestions.

Thanks, yes my son has tried AI. Surely nurses and doctors have healing training?

Not familiar to me but Google AI was a bit more helpful, could it be the first book listed?

The plot you are describing does not match any specific, well-known published book found in the search results. It may be a unique story idea you have, or possibly an obscure work not widely indexed online.
However, several books in the search results have similar themes of a healer and a prince, religious/mystical healing, and political intrigue:

  • The Shattered King by Charlie N. Holmberg is a new release involving Nym, a healer who becomes the prince's official healer and must uncover the truth behind his illness, which previous healers couldn't remedy. The setting involves a court and potentially different healing practices.
  • A Prince So Cruel (Healer of Kingdoms Series) by Ingrid Seymour features a human with "average healing abilities" kidnapped to heal a Fae prince with a curse that could destroy his kingdom. This explores the dynamic of a practical healer in a powerful, different culture.
  • Healer (Spiritual Gifts Book 1) by T. A. Seitz involves Prince Kellan using his healing gifts, which are recognized by only two people, to save his older brother who has fallen ill, forcing him to seek an external healer.

Hi @Dragondrums you posted on Christian Mumsnetters to ask about a particular book. I made the observation that your OP did not sound like a Christian publication because any supernatural healing comes only from the Lord God Almighty. The above post is going off on a strawman tangent.

However, just to indulge the tangent for a second 🙂: If you are a disciple of Christ Jesus, my answer is that you will know that all things on earth are provided by our Creator God. All praise and glory to Him 🙏

If you are not a disciple of Christ Jesus, my answer is that your question may be best for the Religion and Philosophy board … medics do not receive ‘healing training’ in a Spiritual sense which is discretely different - but yes, of course they are trained in the human anatomy and how to apply their medical training.

@GentleSheep yes, those came up for me too.

Thank you for your help. I will pass the suggestions to my son.
