Just that really!

I brought the question up at a Bible study recently and we are going to look into it in more depth next time but I know there are some really knowledgeable interesting people on here so, I'd love to hear your answers!

Thank you 😊

Don't know, but God is love.

I was taught that God is like a circle - He has no beginning and no end. In other words, there's never been a time when He didn't exist. Not easy for us mere humans to get our heads around.

God is eternal. He just … is.

Some scriptures which you might find helpful -

The eternal God is your refuge
Deuteronomy 33:27

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Timothy 1:17

A Prayer of Moses the man of God.
Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
Psalm 90:1-2

@leopardprint17 , @LeaningOnTheEverlastingArms said it: God is eternal. He just … is.

Alpha and Omega.

It’s such a great question and as a PP has said, it’s beyond our comprehension - God just is and always has been. He’s perfect love, perfect justice, perfect perfection and from him, everything else flows. He’s the source of life and all life comes from him. I’m personally really comfortable with that explanation and I love the idea of all life flowing from God.

One way to look at it, is that if God had a creator, then that creator must have had a creator. This pattern would have to continue infinitely, and if true, then it would be impossible that we exist.

So our creator must have existed just because. And must be eternal.
