What is this verse/piece please?

I know someone here will know this.
The piece I'm thinking of is when someone asks the Lord how He let them down and the response is 'When you were hungry I sent you food, but you wouldn't eat it, when you were drowning, I sent you help but you wouldn't take it..' The idea is that the mam waited for God to intercede but is told all the offers he turned down were intercessions that he refused. Anyone?

It is a wry, tongue-in-cheek Christian joke that has been doing the rounds for years - it is not in the Bible but it has Biblical principles.

The meaning behind it is that God does not always answer our prayers in the way we want. Sometimes the answer to our prayers might be right in front of us, but we are not looking through the right lens. Sometimes the answer to our prayers may not be something we want to ‘hear’ .
