Teething or something more sinister?

Really worried about my almost 7mo DD.

The night before last she slept from about 7.30pm til midnight and then woke every hour. During the day she was a bit fretful and clingy. Had a long nap on me whilst feeding on and off.

She is BF and doing BLW. She hasn't had much in the way of solids yesterday - just some fruit and cucumber.

Last night it took me over 4 hours to settle her - she cried when I tried to put her in her cot so she slept in our bed. She has woken up a few times in the night but we managed to get her to settle, either by feeding or patting/shushing.

She woke up at 3am and has been pretty much inconsolable. Tried feeding, Bonjela, Calpol, Ashtons & Parsons but nothing seems to make a difference. Rocked her, sang, gave her a teething ring to chew on, even walked her round the kitchen in her pram. She is extremely tired but nothing we do seems to work.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Teething?
Or an ear infection (have just come back from holiday and she has been swimming a few times)?
Or something else?

She's just fallen asleep on DH so going to get some sleep now.

DS (8.5m) has been similar and over the weekend has come down with a very heavy cold which we've all now got.

He has just started feeling much better - last night (night 4) he was only up every two hours instead of every hour.

Does your DD have a temperature? Is she pulling at her ear? If neither, I'd monitor and give Calpol and Calprofen to see if either made a difference. If she was no better I'd take to the dr.

Thanks. She did have a temp yesterday and was pulling at her ear but not today. She seems a lot brighter today and was back to enjoying her food. Tonight will be the test though.

Hope you are all feeling better soon.
