HELP, URGENT! Does DS need to be checked out?

I'm meant to be getting a train in an hour.

DS has just bumped his head, on a sticky-out bit of the stairs. It's come up in a bump. He cried but got over it quickly. It's the bump whih worries me. It's not big, but it's there!

I don;t know much about head injuries, when should you get them checked out? Am I OK to get the train (we would be near a Drs again in about 3 hours).

He should be fine. Watch out for vomiting/sleepy though.

Thanks for the lightening reply, and the advice.

Second what Fluffy said

No problem. Head bumps are stressful. As long as he wasn't knocked out, isnt vomiting/behaving differently then he should be fine. A cold compress to the bump will help with any swelling. If he starts to vomit or becomes drowsy/slow in his movements then get him checked.

Thanks everyone, your advice is much appreciated. I've found NHS direct to be really useful in the past, but you lot are way quicker!

DS is fine and the little bump is healing well .
