something in babies eye. advice please???

my three week old baby has what looked liked a hair at first in his eye and now looks like he has a contact lens in it. hard to describe really but its a line all the way across his eye. anyone else had this sort of problem or know what it might be?

How long has he had it? Sounds like it might be a strand of mucus, if so you could try wiping it with a bit of cooled boiled water.

ill try that thanks, noticed it friday but could of been there longer as at three weeks old hes not awake all that much

Has he always had it, if so, or if it has been there for a while then probably worth asking your GP to take a look at it.
