neck aches

My four year old daughter has dreadful neck ache. At least 4 times in 24 hours she will become bery tired then get an ache in the back of her neck that becomes worse and worse until she is all swaety and writhing about screaming with pain. Then it will gradually lesson and she will fall asleep. We now have to give her pain killers all day and night to prevent them, and she is a different child as a result. Happy, and full of energy. We are under the paedeatrician and physio with this, but no one seems to be able to diagnose the problem or help. Does anyone have any experience of this or advice?

No experience but have you tried an osteopath - I had terrible backache which neither painkillers nor physio could sort and 2 sessions at the osteopath sorted it out.

Has she had an x-ray?

You need to get an xray pretty quick I think and ask for a referral to an orthpedic specialist as a matter of priority. Ask your gp whether it will be faster to get these things through a referral by them, or one by the paediatrician. I would get on the phone and
start the process off.

Good luck

When she was a baby was her head slightly mishapen? Just wondering if the skull is applying pressure to her neck/spine area?

This can cause pain and cause a child to be rather grumpy.

An cranial osteopath would be able to assist with it.
