Hi,

Worried about DS. Just taken his temperature and it is 102F. Is this too high for a 7 month old?

He has had a 101F fever for a couple of days now but seemed okish in him self so I wasn't too worried and have just been giving him calpol and keeping him cool. But I am more worried now that his temperature has risen.

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks.

yes it is a bit high, calpol, nurofen and sponge him with a lukewarm cloth.

have you got an electric fan? I find ours quite good for helping bring down a temp (with calpol and nurofen) but just let it fan the room - dont let it directly blow on DS

Thanks for your replies.

No electric fan unfortunately and it is really hot in our flat tonight which is not helping.

I took his temperature under his arm and have just been reading on the internet that I should add 1 degree to the reading which is worrying me more.

Do you think that I should take him to the GP tomorrow?

when DS had a temp that high it came down quite quickly (but he was very out of sorts whilst he was running it)

tbh if it stays high and everything you are doing doesnt bring it down and you are worried (and because it has being going on for a couple of days) i would call either NHS direct or your on call doctor. I've found NHS direct to be really good when i've called about DS.
