Eruption cyst - complications

My dd has an eruption cyst over her bottom molar which has been there a number of weeks. All of her other first set molars are through but this one. Yesterday I noticed it looked like it had popped, had a feel but couldn't feel any tooth, still very squishy. There is a big bit of gum poking from the top and generally looks sore. Dentist wanted to see it and basically the top molar is irritating the cyst below can catching it. She said that not muchthey can do to help, just give calpol and hope the toothpops through. If not throughin 2 weeks she will refer us to the hospoital dental department. Looked online and it looks like they would try to cut away the cyst to encourage the tooth. Am hoping it won't come to this but her gum looks so sore. Has anyone been through this with eruption cysts?
