Magnesium sulphate from the chemist. Or consider a GP if her little toe is infected.

soak her in the bath? would that make it easier for them to come out?

search Mumsnet for splinter advice...I'm sure there is some tip along the lines of putting bread on the area??? might be completely wrong though!

here are results for "splinter bread", seems quite a popular remedy

sorry link didn't work. Just go to "advanced search" and put in "splinter bread"

showofhands - we were camping and i noticed the one in her toe this morning, was not infected, but big and deep, so i did not touch til we got home as not enough clean stuff to do it (shall remedy that in our medical box now!) and it has become infected since then. If she does not let me touch it this evening, will need gp tomorrow i think, yes.

she has soaked her toe in a hot bowl of water for about 20 mins, and her hand too, she is having a bath in a mo. I got one out, it popped out easily, and did not hurt, but she did not find this helpful for the ones that hurt!

Thanks knicknack i will go search that now!
