Bleeding/blistering nappy rash

DD3 is 8 m/o and has the occasional bout of what I have been told is thrush (pink/red blistering over genitals/nappy region but no discharge). When you wipe her bottom - even ever so gently - the top of the blisters come off and the blood starts flowing .

She has had the bleeding nappy rash with Huggies and with some fleece liners (not the fluffy kind but the more 'matt' kind). I use Canesten powder and metanium (sp?) cream but it still keeps coming back.

Does anyone have any ideas to get rid of this or is it another trip to the GP?

Egg white is fab for nappy rash - just dab on, fixes within a day or so

Also you need to keep the area as dry as possible, I've use cornflower in the past (yup the type from the kitchen cupboard) just dab a bit on with some cotton wool.

Lots of fresh air works too - thank goodness it's summer!

Hope it clears up soon

DD has been having this problem lately, she is 19 months and wears cloth nappies and I thought it may have been them although I always hot wash, but tried dispos and the same thing happened, my GP thinks its her eczema being brought on by wipes so has advised cotton wool and water and he gave me some canestan cream to clear it and told me to layer sudocrem on at every nappy change.

I feel for you cos its so awful to see their bottoms a mess
