Hand, foot and mouth

My 4 year old came home from nursery in good form yesterday but about an hour later, he was complaining about a blister on his finger.

He was then really out of sorts, temperature etc.

I got an emergency appointment with the GP who said she thought it was hand, foot and mouth diseases.

Has anyone had this? He is still out of sorts but he only has one blister. I have, of course, googled it and it seems that more blisters are usual

Hi, DD1 had this last winter. Hers was more of a rash than actual blisters, all over her hands, like mittens, feet and slightly around her mouth but not much.

Interestingly she wasn't out of sorts at all and had no temp/ill effects. Very contagious though so had a week off school.

Could it be chicken pox? or could it be a normal blister?

Well that's what I thought - a normal blister. I went to the GP because the blister was large and it looked a little off colour and because he was suddenly out of sorts.

I did query the doctor. DS still not right but still only one blister.

I have rung nursery to see if they have had anyone else reporting it. No one so far
