Discolouration of one tooth

DS is 9mo and I've been brushing his teeth twice a day since they started to appear.
It's not an easy job because he bites the toothbrush, or sucks it, or licks it, but I do my best.
He has four of his teeth (central and lateral incisors) at the top and two at the bottom (central incisors) and recently I've noticed that he has a bit of discolouration on one of his lateral incisors on the top.
None of his other teeth are discoloured in any way, just this one.

Am I incorrectly brushing his teeth? Is there a good way of making sure I can properly scrub them (tried a finger toothbrush, he just bit me a lot, and it was a bit big)

Would it be wise to get a dentist to look at it?

dont know if this is the same thing but my dd front tooth turned discoloured when she was about 18 months or so, took her to the dentist and he said the nerve had died most prob from her banging it (which she had a while before)

it stayed this was untill it fell out aged 5!

My gut reaction was that it had died too. Take him to the dentist to check, but don't panic I am sure the one underneath will be fine.

All mine have bitten the tooth brush and made it a real challenge to clean their teeth too, persevere it does get easier, and my dentist said any little bit of cleaning you can manage helps.

Ds1 has had one discoloured tooth since it came in.

Dentist says it was most likely damage when it forming, and the adult tooth would be fine when it came through.

Ds was a late toother though, and still at the age of 10 has only lost 3 baby teeth, so we may have to wait a while for it to fall out!

Thanks for the replies, I'm due an appointment at the dentist soon, so I'll ask, but at least I'm prepared in case they do say the tooth has died.

I have this; it's a dead tooth, as others have said. Bit of a PITA as it looks a wee bit oddd, but causes no problems otherwise.
