Barium meal - anyone else's DC had this?

DS2 age 13 has to have this next week. Have read the leaflet but wondering if anyone has gone through this? He has had problems with his bowels for years so hope this will help diagnose what is wrong. Is it unpleasant during and afterwards?

He will be very impressed by odd colour poos - I am fed up with poos of any colour! Thank you. Just sounds so clinical.

Very heavy poos that lie at the bottom of the pan and are hard to flush away. He needs to check after flushing
