DD is 14mo. She came down with a high temperature and was really unwell yesterday. She also had a strange rash on her feet, then later on her hands- red pinprick spots. Took her to gp who said it wasn't anything sinister. Her temperature is normal and she is her happy self again today, but the weird rash has now spread all over her body. Some spots are bigger and raised and kind of blotchy. They don't appear to be bothering her at all. I am not particularly worried as she is fine in herself but don't want to take her out if she is contagious. Any ideas?

Allergy? Reaction to sun cream or other lotion?

Tillyscoutsmum · 09/06/2010 19:22

Virus - something like roseola. DD had it - high temp and grumpy for a couple of days. Then she was fine and a rash came out. Google it but pretty sure its not contagious

Could it be hand, foot and mouth? Pinch like rash on feet and hands. Or Roseola as TSM suggests, my dd had this and was also was very grumpy with temp and then fine as soon as the rash appeared.

viral rash?

debka · 09/06/2010 19:27

The HF&M sounds scary... but she hasn't had mouth ulcers so I would say not that. Roseola sounds a possible- she is absolutely fine now the rash is making her look infectious and plague-ridden!

it's not scary - like I said it's a mild, common viral illness
