What are these spots????

Hi all,

Just after some advice or a possible explanation as to what these spots might be that have come out all over DS.

A week ago we noticed little red spots all over our son. They weren't very obvious, no blistering, no scaly skin or dryness. He hasn't had any fevers or temperature.

We took him to the Dr after a few days (it was a bank holiday) and got the all clear as they were disappearing.

However, since about Thurs he now seems to have developed much more raised, red spots which cover his arms and legs. The ones on his chest and back have all disappeared and I feel that this is now a new, unrelated episode.

They don't seem to irritate him, they don't itch, he seems absolutely fine within himself and I can't really work out what they might be.

I was wondering if perhaps they were an allergic reaction to something like food but wasn't certain as, like I say, they don't itch him.

Can anyone offer an explanation? I'll take him to the Drs on Monday but we're supposed to be going to a baby's party tomorrow but I'm concerned he might be infectious.

Hi, I'm not sure what they could be to be honest, but I would go on NSH Direct online or give them a ring and they should be able to help. I agree with you about being unsure about the birthday party though.

Could it be ezcema or a heat rash? I'm not sure about being infectious as they are not over his body, does sound more like something else, maybe food allergy, sun cream allergy perhaps.

Hope he is OK.

I think it sounds like it could be heat rash.

Thanks for the replies.

We haven't gone to the party although I'm fairly certain it must be an allergic reaction or like you say, a heat rash. I'm wondering if he's reacting to the sun cream at nursery.

Anyway, thanks again - as always, very appreciated!
