Prirton can stop then itching

Also, tepid baths with oats or bicarb of soda can be soothing

Ledodgy · 05/06/2010 19:09

buy calomine aqueous cream rather than calomine otion it is better and gives relied for longer and doesn't get all dry and flakey. Also fill the leg on an old pair of tights with oats and tie to the bath tap and let the water run thrugh it for a soothing bath or alternatively add some bicarbonate of soda to the bath. If eithr of your children seem to have poz in their mouths or eyes then ring the gp and he/she will prescribe a course of antiviral medicine for them. hope they feel better soon. My 3 had it over Christmas which was fun!

Yes they can eat what they want . You may find they say their throat hurts or their mouth and will refuse some foods if they have spots in the mouth. All mine had spots in their mouths but I only took dd to the gp as she had one in her eye. He gave her drops for her eye and anti virals as he said once it goes in the mouth they tend to give anti viral meds. However she was the only one who had the meds but I think if it does go in their mouth it is worth asking for as it really is like magic medicine for Cp. Some gps don't like prescribing it because it is very expensive to prescribe and some will say it's only effective in the first 48 hous of cp. However my dd was on day 4 and it shrunk her spots (she was covered) and helped her perk up really quickly.

oh thanks Ledody, yeh they are not eating much. I think she has in her mouth also, will check in the morning.
