How long will it take to get a replacement pair of glasses for a kid with GCSEs on Tuesday 8 June? Please?

Ok, so ds' glasses fell under a train this AM - happily he did not jump down to rescue them!! He is wearing prescription sunglasses (Thank God for them) but they are not ideal. Dh will take him to the optician tomorrow to see what they can do.

The glasses fell off because the frames were broken; a new set of frames are in the post to the optician but they were going to put the old lenses (now under train) in the new frames.

How quickly do you reckon the optician can make up new lenses to stick in the frames? Should we tout his prescription (which, although he is pretty short-sighted, is not particularly weird) round a load of opticians to see which can do him a new pair of glasses quickest?

If necessary we could get into central London where they might be geared up to doing things quickly???

Thank you so much, that's fantastic! Dh said his take 2 weeks minimum but he is vvvvv shortsighted. We are with Optical Express so we will see if they can do them quickly, but otherwise tout him round to Specsavers and Vision Express.

Then he can revise!

Specsavers are brill - quick, friendly and helpful- never worry when kids glasses get broken. would be surprised if even the mose complicated prescription too them more than 4 days.

I am extremely short-sighted and sat on my glasses the day before I was going away for the weekend. Vision Express sorted me out with a new pair in an hour, with just enough time for me to make my train away. Because they couldn't do my super-thin ones in a day as they have to be made away, they just made up the best they had and then fitted the super-thin ones when I was back. At now extra cost. They were fabulous.

Thanks, his normal opticians are doing them for Thursday. I may try SS or VE another time though. Thanks.
