My dd (2.5) has recently developed this condition and I am awaiting paediatric appointment after my gp referred her today. She had also complained of a sore eye on two occasions last Tuesday, but when I ask her each day since if it is sore, she says no. This is on the same side as the torticollis. I gave googled the condition and of course scared myself with all the potential causes of acquired torticollis.
In addition to this problem, she has habitual trichotillomania (hair pulling) on this side too and has a bald patch - this has been as a result of sucking on hair with her thumb since it has grown long enough to do so. Gp assures me that it us habitual in children this age and not evidence of stress / anxiety. However, as she has never experienced the condition in such a young child, she has referred her to the child psychologist for benefit of their expertise. This referral was made just three weeks ago, before she developed the torticollis.
Dd is a lovely, happy child who has not suffered a fall (other than usual toddler tumbles) nor has she experienced any emotional trauma. She is eating and sleeping well and I just wanted to know if anyone has experience of either of these conditions and outcomes?
Would really appreciate some advice on how to deal
with the hair pulling - have had all her hair cut very short, she is still grabbing it. Hv advised to ignore it, but she is digesting it and it is coming through her nappies. She has also had very pungent, runny nappies for weeks and am awaiting culture analysis.
Don't know if any of these conditions are related, and sorry for barrage of medical complaints in one post, really appreciative of your time to read post and grateful for any pearls of wisdom.
