I noticed today that DS1 has one normal looking ear and then the other is really bright red. This ear is also gets dirty very quickly from ear wax. DH sais he has noticed this before but has forgotten to mention it.

Does anyone know if this is something to worry about? DS also tends to talk very loudly most of the time. I thought it was because he is exited but I'm not sure ´the two could be connected....

Sounds like an ear infection. Antibiotics probably necessary - off to the GP...

Yes - could be an ear infection, but possibly sounds more like glue ear. Is he otherwise unwell or feverish? It could be wise to get a hearing test. As far as I understand, glue ear (otitis media with effusion) is more chronic, resulting in reduced hearing, whilst ear infections are shorter episodes and far more painful

ds1 has this too sometimes, usually when he was teethng or tired, but definitely get him checked for glue ear/infection
