Should I take DD2 back to doc re her not weeing after high temp?

She has a chest infection, nasty cough and cold and on tuesday her temp shot up to over 40. Took her to docs, got AB's and started them Tuesday night.
Since then she has only had wet nappies sporadically, been going 5-6 hours without weeing and then very dark yellow.
Last night she slept through for the first time but have just changed her nappy and it is bone dry. Since 6pm last night.
She has no temp now but was high again yesterday afternoon. She's really grumpy and clingy this morning, had a bit of juice and a nana.

DD1 did wake with cough so my brain is frazzled, what's the best thing to do?

Still doc or wait and see if she 'stops again and go later?

I'd err on the side of caution. Had similar experience with 13-month old, she ended up in hosp. for dehydration. Get loads of fluids down her. Can you phone doc for advice?

JackBauer · 21/05/2010 09:34

thanks btw, sorry, that's what I was thining and wanted 2nd op, but now she has flooded her nappy I am wondering if it is just ebcause she was asleep

sounds dehydrated get as much fluids in as possible and if old enough try some ice lollies for temperature and to sooth cough

EndangeredSpecies · 21/05/2010 09:37

oh that's good, if she's drinking OK then perhaps just keep an eye on her

JackBauer · 21/05/2010 09:38

will make appt for later. last time I asked for a phone call it did not go down well

yes same here, the doc was so useless I ended up taking her to A&E.

DD1 ended up on a drip once and she was really bad, I don't think DD2 is bad, just sleepy. She's not eating or drinking uch because of the godawful sore throat. Am off to shop later anyway to get some nasty chemically bottle drinks as the novelty will means eh will drink them.
yesterday I got her one of those really nasty blue cup drinks and it as gone in seconds!

Thanks. DH has the car at the garage anyway and it is 3 buses to the docs so will wait for him to get back and then see.

Okay.
So cup juice, couple inches water and half a nasty tesco bottle drink and she still has a dry nappy.
appt made at docs this avo for start of surgery. I called at 12 and all the appts had gone so I got assertive and insisted she was seen today.
Thanks, you knwo when you are so tired you aren't sure if you are overreacting or not?1
