I took a picture of D last friday and she looked like she had a squint but I dismissed it as a bad picture. My DH then mentioned he thought she had a squint a few days later. We have noticed it more and more as the week has gone on.

Does anyone know if a head injury could cause a squnit or distort the eyes? She fall off a roundabout last Wednesday and banged her hand she seemed fine so thought nothing of it but now I am concerned they are connected. Hopefully it is a coincidence and I am being paraniod!!

Doctors appointment planned for next Tuesday.

If you think the two things might be connected, I think you should take her to a and e. I don't mean to be alarmist, but surely in this case, better safe than sorry.

She is absolutely fine in herself so wasn't worried. It only dawned on me this morning that I noticed it was two days after she fall off the roundabout!!

I noticed dd's squint when she was around 18 months - it is a common age to start noticing these things. She was referred to the orthoptist at the hospital via the hv (or you could go to the gp). She ended up being long sighted and has to wear glasses (and always will). It is probably nothing to do with the fall but do take her to be checked out in case she does have eyesight problems.

Went to the doctors and she has referred us to the Orthoptist although she said it might not be a squint but an 'apparant squint' due to DD flat wide bridged nose.

That is called epycanthus.

My boy has it.

You are in the system now so take all the checks you can.
