How long before taking D&V baby to Dr's?

DS2 was sick twice on Friday, then did horrid poo Friday night / Saturday morning. Generally well since then with low appetite (apart from breast milk) until yesterday (Tues) when he was sick again three times and this morning he's had two bouts of diarrhoea.
Seems to be a long time getting better imo. He's still eating a small amount, drinking small amounts of water and plenty of breast milk. In between the two bouts of sick I wormed him as I thought he was on the mend and he needed worming. He's OK when awake although not very happy.
Any thoughts? Will I get short shift at the Dr's, should I wait until he's been unwell for a week or longer?

tbh i wouldn't take a child with d&v to the doctors, in case i passed it on to anyone else.
well, not unless i was seriously concerned.

these things do take a while to get over, but if he is feeding ok,and eating and drinking (even small amounts) then i think he'll be fine

there isn't antthing they can do, and it doesn't sound like he is getting dehydrated or anything. so the best thing IMO is to carry on as you aer

You wormed him??

How old is DS2? Drs usually ask if he is having wet nappies as dehydration is the most immediate risk. If he's taking in bm and keeping it down, you should be OK.

I took one of mine to Drs when we'd moved to a new area and they took stool sample because often different water can upset their tummies (not an issue if you are still using cool boiled water though)

Yes I wormed him! My CM spotted threadworms in his bottom so we were all wormed. He's nearly 11 months old and the GP prescribed them for him. I only wormed when I thought he was on the mend ie eating and drinking fairly normally and not being sick. It just seems odd that he seemed to be getting better and now he's not. My instinct is to keep on as we are but I think DH is more inclined to speak to a medical person but you are right probably should keep DS away from the waiting room.

I probably wouldn't take him to the doctor if he's managing to keep down a reasonable amount of fluids, especially if those fluids are breastmilk.
