When do mole's appear on babies/toddlers?

If they are going to have a noticable mole, is it usually present at birth or can they appear in the first few years?

Thing is, OH has a large mole below his eye and has always been self concious about it. He is constantly checking DS for moles and is worried about DS developing one on his face.

ds started to develop his first mole (and only so far) at four. It's not very big. DH has a lot of large moles

DD had her first mole within a month of her birth. Now she is nearly 5 and several tiny moles have appeared on her body in the last couple of months - on her feet, forehead, neck, etc.
