Cracked sucking thumb - any suggestions?

Hi all. DD (21 months) sucks her thumb at night and when she naps or is sleepy or quiet during the day. On Tuesday I noticed it had cracked and was bleeding in the thumb crease, and is generally looking fairly dry and battered all over. I've been putting Lansinoh on with the idea that it would protect the crack from the moisture and give it a chance to heal but don't know if that's the right thing to do.

I'm just worried that it hurts her and will get worse, and possibly infected, as she's always picking up mud and so on. Any tips?

dd 's got infected. You really need to cover it over before she gnaws at it. Perhaps the second skin stuff would help ?
