chicken pox

Chicken pox is going round here at the moment.
DD (19mo) developed 2 or 3 spots on her face about a week ago, I thought they were insect bites but am now wondering if it's possible this is a v v mild dose of the pox? She is coldy at the moment too.
I've had it and am still breastfeeding her.

Am now panicking a bit that she's been passing it on to people! Or am I just being over cautious?

thanks

it certainly could have been chickenpox - some children only get very mild symptoms.

I wouldn't worry about passing it on - other children might have caught it from her, but if its going round anyway, its not going to make much difference.

Hope she gets over her cold soon

DO you think there's any point in her having a blood test to see if she's had it?

[imagines trying to get her to sit still for long enough....]

maybe when she's a bit older and more susceptible to bribery....

don't bother now - I actually didn't contract chickenpox as a child, and when my DCs started at nursery school, I was worried that they would catch it and then pass it on to me.

So I got vaccinated at aged 33!

Good job too, as a couple of months later DD came down with the pox, and passed it on to her baby brother...

If you can remember, just remind to get a test before her kids go to school
