Chicken Pox

Hi all, First timer here. Would anybody no the chances of my DD catching CP from someone who had just come out in spots, and if so roughly how long before she shows signs of it. It has been 10days now and nothing showing so maybe she is immune or am I just to early in expecting something by now! Many Thanx Becky

My ds caught chicken pox from his brother who had shingles and it was exactly 2 weeks later that the spots appeared.

Hi and Thanx Bubbles, have been a lurker for a while but thought as i'd read good advice before I would post my own Q! Wow so 2 weeks then, maybe a few more days before anything shows (not good, travelling to Portsmouth for the FA cup final on Sat - guess we'l watch it on tv instead lol) Ouch your poor Ds, having shingles, must have been awful! It can be anything from 10-21 days after exposure. And chances of catching it is anyone's guess. DS went through three waves of chicken pox at nursery (when all his friends who he played with all day went down with it one after the other) without catching it, and then caught it last month from what must have been a casual passing encounter (because we didn't know anyone else with the pox or who went down with it around the same time).
