Baby toiletry products - what/when did you start using them?

DD is 8 weeks old and starting to enjoy her bathtime. So far I've only used a small amount of Little Me hair/body wash on her due to a particularly poo-ey experience midweek! I didn't follow this up with any body lotion or talc but I wondered if her skin would dry out if I continued using a body wash.

Also she seems to have really dry skin on her face which I have left alone, except for a sweep of olive oil over her brow which was particularly bad.

So... I wondered what other people use, when (what age) you started using it, and what you recommend or feel should be approached with caution. Anybody? No history of skin sensitivity in our family (should I tempt fate by saying that? )

Our DD's 12 weeks old, we don't routinley use any bath products. Found olive oil and vaseline useful for dry skin.
A friend recomends baby oil for cradle cap.
I've heard that talc could be linked to cervical cancer!?
