Have I done the right thing?

DD (10) on Sunday landed awkwardly when she dismounted the worktop in the kitchen (don't ask). She said her foot hurt, on the top below the toes, the metatarsals I think?? but managed to carry on. Still sore yesterday but managed to ride bike/go to the May fair. When we got back she said her foot clicked and from that point was hobbling around saying it is very painful and can we get it checked at hospital.
Now although DD is not a hypochondriac she does have health anxiety and we have been to minor injuries before with hurt fingers and toes that have turned out ok. She did break her arm a year ago and I think that has heightened ner awareness that bones do break.
Anyway I have sent her to school bacause

  1. She can walk/hobble on it
  2. There is no bruising/swelling visible.
  3. She can tolerate me pressing on the sore area although it does hurt a bit.
I dont want to rush to minor injuries every time she hurts herself but I don't want to ignore a genuine injury. Any advice please?

I guess what i'm asking is is it ok to wait and watch? I will of course reassess when I see her after school.

Hi, yeah wait and see when she gets home. If she's exagerating then she will prob have forgotten about it with the general excitement of the day. However if she still like it after school then yes getit looked at.

Thank you very much for answering. Im still unsure but I appreciate your perspectives which is what I needed. She really wants to get it looked at. It's really strange a child being so insistant on going to hospital. I will let you know what happens, thank you.
