DS (7 months) has just gone for a week without pooing. I was all set to take him to the out of hours doc today, but he has finally produced a poo. It was quite big, but runny...typical BF poo with a few lumps of food (sorry if you're eating your breakfast! ).

He was definitely in some discomfort last night [shattered emoticon], and is now having a nice nap after this mornings exertions. I really don't want to go through this again! I know BFed babies can go for days without pooing, but he was a lot more frequent before he started solids. He doesn't actually eat that much still, and like I said the poo consistency didn't seem to be problematic.

Not sure what to do really...will it sort itself out in time?

hey - i'm not a doc mind but this happened with dd (almots 7 months) when i started blw at 6mths. i was so concerend i started marking the calendar when she poo'd! the alomst no poos went on for about 3 weeks and then suddenly it changed to several poos a day instead of twice a week.

maybe its their gut ajusting to soild food?

(dd was ebf too)
