Weird episode - epilepsy ?

Hi

I'm looking for a bit of advice from someone who knows about epilepsy please.

Last night my son (9) had a very strange 10 minutes, we were all watching tv and he suddenly stood up and started moaning "no, no" and walked outside into the garden where he started shaking from head to foot like a jelly and holding his head occasionally. He didn't want anyone near him and kept saying "be quiet". He was pale and was acting very strangely,he thought he was going to be sick but he wasn't. After 10 minutes he sat down and felt a bit better but he wasn't quite right-he wanted to sit in the garden as he said the house was too hot (it wasn't hot in there though) I got him upstairs into bed as he was completely washed out and tired after what happened and very upset.

He told me he had felt like he had pins and needles all over his body and had felt really light, like he could fly.

His Nan and my Uncle have epilepsy and his cousin has been tested for it after a couple of "fits" but the hospital were never sure what happened to him.

I'm going to take him to the Doctors tomorrow but I wondered if this sounded like epilepsy ?

Thanks for any advice

I was wondering whether he was hot first, then episode after, or the other way round. My first thought was that he might have had a fever that had made him have something like a febrile convulsion.

But I'm not sure whether that's common once past early years.

My great aunt is in her 80s and she, for about the last 10 years, has real 'turns' when she has an infection/temperature. Hallucinations and so on.

Did you take his temp?

Deffo go to doctor and get some professional medical advice though. Sounds scary.

I didn't actually take his temp, but he wasn't hot at all and hasn't been ill-this just came out of nowhere, it was so weird !
