NO.

And I would NOT go anywhere near it except on a resort with a lot of security.

I'm not sure if you've kept up with the news there, but I do because I'm Latina, my father is a dual US/Mexican national and I was brought up in Texas.

There has been a great deal of violence there as cartels vie for power.

Many many bystanders have been shot and killed, including several people on a major street in Acapulco. In broad daylight.

Swine flu's the least of your worries.

Agree with expat.

I wouldn't go this year.

Agree with Expat!

We looked into it for this summer.

Swine Flu = not an issue

Drug related gang violence leading to bystanders being shot and possibly killed = high risk

this happened when i was in houston just last month.

and so did the shooting deaths of 2 US consulate workers (and their spouses) in their cars during the day in juarez.

in one of the cars was also the infant daughter of a consulate worker. the bullets thankfully missed her, but her parents were murdered.

my alma mater, the university of texas, has recalled all students, faculty and staff in certain parts of mexico.
