Anyone got any brilliant symptom relief for relentless painful coughing? I was told Sudafed is only for over 6's.
Thanks!

Try elevating the top of the mattress so chest is higher - pillow under mattress works.
lots of warm fluids supposed to thin mucous.
honey and lemon linctus to sooth throat.
humidifier - expensive but how desperate are you?
GP to rule out chest inf and wheeze.

Piriton syrup, an anti histimine which often causes drowsiness so may help her sleep. ONLY if the cough is a dry, tickly one as coughing clears the lungs of mucous, and mucous sitting in the lungs is an invite for bacterial infection. But if it is all in the upper airways which are inflamed and not producing mucus, just a maddening cough, I think it cant do any harm at night. Check with pharmacist and weigh up pros and cons, sleep vs exhausting coughing. Age 1+.

Viral coughs can last 3 weeks
Calpol if throat sore from all coughing?
Tempted to say ear plugs but no one is that heartless
