Sprained foot

My 6 year old DS has a sprained foot and limps when he puts pressure on it. The walk in centre said with Nurofen he should be ok to go to school as long as he does not run or play football. How do you get a boy not to run around? Wondering if I should keep him home but as he is otherwise absolutely fine, am reluctant to do so. Any thoughts appreciated.

He wouldn't run around on it if it's too sore Have you tried a support bandage?

They have given me a bandage and he is wearing it now. Thats what I thought about the running!

Children normally stop or won't do something if it hurts. I'd mention it to his teacher though, maybe send him tomorrow morning and give the school a ring at lunch time to see how he is? You can collect him if his ankles really sore.

Thanks for your response. He came home hobbling on Thursday and is no worse but no better today than when he went to school on Friday. They said it would take 1-2 weeks. Will see in the morning but tempted to send him in.
