They missed off batteries, pins and geomag magnets.

mrsruffallo · 14/04/2010 21:46

What's with the scare-mongoring tone?
Woooaaaahh
Sorry, cant bear these 'danger everywhere' type articles

blametheparents · 14/04/2010 21:51

WOuldn't have known about the mouth wash, tbh. Just wouldn't have given it a thought.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 14/04/2010 21:54

But I've been giving DS his lamp oil every night now for 4 years, I never thought it could be dangerous.

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 14/04/2010 21:58

Maybe they use lamp oil alot in America Pfft????

LynetteScavo · 14/04/2010 22:03

Nicotine? Poisonous? Well I never!

DaisymooSteiner · 14/04/2010 22:06

I'm sniggering at the idea of a toddler getting pissed on Listerine. Does that make me a bad person?

mrsruffallo · 14/04/2010 22:12

Yes, DM.
You should be running around your house locking everything up

TrillianAstra · 14/04/2010 22:14

Wholemeal pasta. It will kill children dontcha know?

wukter · 14/04/2010 22:15

That's surely common sense.

snickersnack · 14/04/2010 22:16

ROFL at "And we?ve all seen someone ash their smoke into an empty can or use a spit cup with chewing tobacco." In Illinois maybe but not round these parts.

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 14/04/2010 22:16

They also missed fruit shoots and greggs sausage rolls off the list. Tsch!

mrsruffallo · 14/04/2010 22:19

It's all the rage round here, snickers!

BoffinMum · 14/04/2010 22:21

Those alcohol hand rubs schools have been putting all over the place are highly poisonous to children.

But as ever, schools like to look safe rather than actually be safe.

whomovedmychocolate · 14/04/2010 22:21

I can think of at least 50 in my house and garden actually. But none as poisonous as my MiL

Aranea · 14/04/2010 22:21

I can't say I'm overly concerned about the likelihood of my toddler eating two tablespoons of salt in one go. How would that one happen?

onebadbaby · 14/04/2010 22:28

I bought my daughter a sherbert fountain, and then didn't give it to her the other day because the ingredients were sodium bicarbonate and it didn't seem right to let her eat a tube of this- looks like my instincts were right- do you think there would be enough in a sherbert fountain to cause poisoning??

toccatanfudge · 14/04/2010 22:33

that is a heck of a lot of salt isn't it.

how many grams do you reckon two tablespoons is?

mrsruffallo · 14/04/2010 22:34

10?

TrillianAstra · 15/04/2010 10:56

Sodium bircarbonate is baking soda, it makes cakes rise or makes the sherbet fizz. If you use SR flour or baking powder you'll be eating it. Sherbert fountains are mostly sugar anyway.

I want one now.

CharlieBoo · 15/04/2010 21:12

LOL to the MIL comment whomovedmychocolate!!! Me too by the way! :-)

CuppaTeaJanice · 15/04/2010 21:19

Oh no, sherbet fountains were my craving during pregnancy. I ate over 200 in 3 months! I cleared the entire stock at Morrisons one day.

NathanBarley · 15/04/2010 21:33

Quite dangerous for choking on, the old sherbert fountains though.

lucysnowe · 19/04/2010 14:13

Oops, forgot I posted this! LOL yous. I agree it's a bit scaremongery and American but I didn't know about lamp oil etc...
