Chicken pox vaccine

Has anyone got this for their little one? Or, can anyone marshall the arguments for and against? Am considering going private to get it (not something I would generally do) as DS (coming up 2) has quite bad eczema and I am worried that he would not do well with chicken pox.

I must admit, I would think that eczema being an auto immune condition, I would not be rushing to vaccinate, as it would be my thinking that I wouldn't want to exacerbate an auto immune exfoliating condition.

For example, even the CDC says that if you have eczema, smallpox vaccination is NOT recommended because there are links.

Plainly the small pox vaccine is not the chicken pox vaccine but if I were you I would be looking into it a bit.

I've just found this on a website which recommends vaccination, so not weirdy alternative at all

"Susceptible people who are at high risk of complications?such as those with an impaired immune system and pregnant women?and who have been exposed to someone with chickenpox?may be given antibodies against the varicella virus (varicella-zoster immune globulin)."

instead of the chicken pox vaccine.

My ds was vaccinated when about 3 years old, and his cousins at a similar age. All have eczema and no ill effects from vaccine.

My dd had it when she was about 18 months old. A friend of ours had shingles which lead to encephalitis. I decided that if she couldn't catch the pox, she'd never get shingles. I have since learned that it isn't 100% effective though.
