7 week old - upset tummy - diarrhea? What should I do?

Hello - my 7 week old daughter has suddenly produced 3 very heavy / runny nappies in the space of 5 hours (very out of character). She seems happy enough although isn't eating as much as normal. Is it usual for little ones poo to change so much over such a short space of time or could it just be an upset tummy? I called my health visitor who said just wait and see! At what point would you go to the Doctors?

Any advice welcome!

Have you changed what she eats (breast to formula, or a different formula)? If breastfed, have you had something different to eat, or a lot of the same thing? Are the nappy contents different to usual?

As long as she is still pretty much herself, reasonably happy, and her temperature isn't up, then, yup, I agree with your HV: just wait and see. Keep offering her her usual food.

Babies do do odd-seeming things, out-of-character things, and they do change in their bowel habits. And it can still all be absolutely normal.
