Growth Spurts

I can't believe i am asking a question about growth spurts as this relates to my second child and I should remember what happened with my first, but I can't! Our daughter is 6 weeks and 2 days old - I'm pretty sure she has been going through the 6 week growth spurt, but I have lost track of when she started wanting more food - to be honest, it's only been really obvious at night - she was lasting from 11pm until around 4.30am-5am. Now she is only lasting from 11pm to 2am - back to new born stuff. Anyway, can anyone tell me what the signs are of the growth spurt ending??? Do they sleep more? I know each child is different, but any other mothers with growth spurt experiences - I'd love to hear what happened with your children! Thank you!

I don't understand why you need to know when it starts and ends. I would just feed her with the usual milk as and when she seems hungry. If she is waking in the night and there are no other obvious causes for it, then I would feed her. They change all the time, it may be a growth spurt, it may not but babies this young usually wake frequently though the night for feeds.

my DD has been on a constant growth spurt since she was born

the 6 week one was the worse - lasted around 2 days and on the second day she fed from 1 in the afternoon until she conked out at 11 pm

i cried a lot that day

she had spurts at 3 weeks, approx 12 weeks and the 16 week one has lasted until now (she is 6 months old)

probably not what you want to hear
